mako is one of the people who helped save the world. more than once. he works for the police, he’s still trying to make the world a better place. that shows he’s got a good heart, and for that reason, i think they would be really okay with their relationship. iroh already met him and so did zuko, and they both seemed to like him. izumi would too, if her daughter was happy. i don’t think they would have a problem with the fact mako doesn’t have money or whatever. actually, i’m sure they wouldn’t
actually i think mako is the one who could not be 100% comfortable with the whole ‘dating the firelord’s daughter’ situation. remember how he reacted when asami asked him out to kwong’s cuisine? it’s a fancy place and he noticed she was rich so he got all awkward, etc. and like, ursa is royalty, i think their relationship would have a lot of mako’s awkward moments because of that. she couldn’t care less about it, but he kinda does. it’s intimidating. and until he realized that none of this matters, well, he would act like that around her family
Zusa finally convinces her mother to let her move to Republic City. Mako is thrilled and makes sure her apartment is always full of panda lilies per a suggestion made by Ikki and Jinora.
